According to some online news reports, Sigma are to launch five new lenses for Four Thirds camera systems. A reaosnably cheap 300mm and a small fast prime would suit me, but I somehow doubt they'll be in the line-up. Only a few more days to go before we find out

Sigma Lenses have arrived!
105mm f/2.8 Macro 150mm f/2.8 Macro HSM 18-50 f/2.8 30mm f/1.4 50-500mm! Looks like I'll have to check out other camera owners from Canon and Nikon and see how these lenses stack up. I'm liking the idea of the 30mm f/1.4, will probably make a great portrait lens on 4/3. |

Whatever happened to the image stabilization technology we were supposed to see from, I think, Sigma? One of the third-party makers, at least, was supposed to "catch up" in this area?

I'll be fine with the 30mm 1.4 minus IS / OS / VR / whatever.
![]() The 105mm looks nice too, save for the whole extending for focus thing. Might now be very nice for the bugs. |

I'm really interested in the 30mm f1.4. The biggest thing that I think I miss from using my film slr's is being able to take handheld available light shots indoors. It's pretty hard to do with a zoom at f4.5. With my OM cameras all I had to do was load some 400 film, snap on my 50mm 1.8 or 1.4 and I was good to go. No flash to annoy people or intimidate them.

Yeah, 30mm f/1.4 is just what I was hoping for. I wonder what the 50-500mm will perform like - equiv. of 1000mm sounds awesome but I'd like to know how it will perform handheld. I use the Zuiko 50-200mm handheld all the time at f/2.8 to f/3.5 and it's flawless in good light. I guess the EX-25 and EC-14 will be compatible with these lenses?
Anyway, well done Sigma for coming round to our little corner of the world. Now let's see some more from Tamron and Co. . |
