Default 1 question about the 510

I noticed the IS screen has a Focal length setting. The manual doesn't mention what it's used for. Can anyone tell me what this does?

Sorry for the flood.

Bob J

Hmmm...I've had the 510 now for a few months...I'm not familiar with focal length settings on the IS screen (Image Stabilization, right?). What I see on the IS screen is the options for IS 1, IS 2, or off. Perhaps you can clarify what else you see on the screen...

The focal length setting was added in the latest firmware update, version 1.3 I believe. It is used to set the focal length of legacy lenses when used on the 510. Allows IS to function on older OM and other lenses with the appropriate adapter.

Thanks for the response John, So essentially, what you're saying is it doesn't affect standard Olympys Zuiko Digital lenses?

Regards,

Jhaide is correct. If you don't see it, then you need to apply the latest firmware upgrade. It doesn't effect normal use of the digital Zuiko lenses for the 4/3 system.
