Default New UK Olympus Safari event

For those of us living in the sceptered isle, you may be very interested in this. If you haven't heard of the 'Olympus UK Photo Safari', it's a group of like minded individuals who get together at various events across the UK to shoot, discuss, moan, and even enjoy the qualities of the Olympus 4:3rds system. There have been a few get-togethers already this year, and we can now announce the next event, scheduled for the 27th April 2008 at Rare Leopards based in Welwyn, Herts (just North of London): Santago Leopards* Project, Welwyn,* Hertfordshire.

The venue has lots of photographic opportunities, including specially adapted viewing portals that allow photographic access without any impediments caused by fences etc (I guess you could go the other side of the fence if you're feeling particularly suicidal ). What is truly amazing about this is that it is all free! Normally you would pay a pretty penny for this type of opportunity (donations will be gratefully received however). There may well be an opportunity to try out the new 14-35mm f/2 lens at this event - and possibly an E-520 (yes, that's a 520) if the Olympus gods are with us....

I'll quote Brian Mosely, the UK Safari founder...

"fantastic news! I have managed to secure an exclusive invitation for
us to be the special guests of Jackie James - the owner of a private
collection of leopards, panthers and other big cats, for Sunday the
27th April.

I have already had a number of Safari Group members express an
interest in this event, and will be trying to secure a 14-35mm f2 and
E-520 for you to use on the day... although a slightly longer lens may
be a better option for the subject in hand.

this event is in the south of England, in the London and surrounding
areas (but if you are willing to travel, then you are of course
welcome to join us!) - if anyone is interested in joining us, all
they have to do is drop me an e-mail.

There are 8 cats available to photograph, and we'll be arriving at the house
at 1pm to set up, in time for feeding the cats at 2pm - there's a big
garden and plenty of space to relax and chat.

This will be an amazing photographic opportunity... and a great place
to have a relaxing get together. I'll be sending out exact timings
and an agenda in due course.

There will be no charge for this event, but you will be encouraged
to leave Jackie a voluntary contribution if you think it's a worthwhile
day out."

If you're interested in attending then either post here or contact Brian directly. You can send him a personal message via the following link:

Default Re: New UK Olympus Safari event

Hi Paul,

thanks for the mention - the event is now FULLY BOOKED! I'm now working with the attendees directly, to make sure everyone will be fully informed and prepared for a fantastic event.

We'll be speeding up the follow-on reports from these events with practice - my apologies for the lengthy delay to the Parrot Sanctuary event, but that will be out before the coming weekend for sure.

We're already planning the next event for May - so if anyone in the UK would like to be involved in the planning / invites to future Olympus UK Photo Safari Events... please feel free to drop me an e-mail via my profile.

Kind Regards

Brian
