Default opinion (I know, I know....)

Does anyone here actually like Olympus master 2? What implements does the "upgrade" bring? Is it worthwhile? I really just want to tinker a bit more with manipulations and such... Any decent freeware out there?

Just a poor man, making an expensive hobby as inexpensive as possible....

I think a lot of people like the results of Oly Master. They just don't like the time it takes. Oly software is slow, but they are not the only camera manufacturer with "native software" issues. If none had issues, there wouldn't be as much need for other software to do the job...

Look in our Image Editing section here for threads about other software. Some decent "freebies" are discussed in there that you could try until you save a bit more money. Google's Picasa is one...

But have you tried Master? Why don't you use it?

It's a bit slow as Pickles says. I also think Studio is a lot better, based on the trial software I've used. I simply keep Master installed for lens/body firmware upgrades - it's great for that .

I agree that Google's Picasa does a lot of nice stuff. It is basic, but still good.
