Default Olympus Studio goes LiveView

Olympus Studio is suppose to get a "free" enhancement that supports Live View. It will take a live view capable camera, and show a live preview inside of Studio. You can control the shutter from in Studio.

I think you will need a computer with a video capture card in it, and some already have one built-in. I think you will need a cable to and will be able to get it from the Olympus Store when the software is released.

Suppose to be out by May for Windows and a month or two later for Apple/Mac.

You can see a video of it here:

Hey! nice find!

...a little crazy that this hasn't been dealt with before with the earlier LiveView capable camera's ??

...I mean, don't Macro-mode and Studio-mode LV both scream for tethered shooting ??

But good that it is available now, or will be purty soon

Kindest regards!

I still sounds a little clunky, but there are definitely times when it will be useful, and adds another important feature to the line. I can see it being useful for studios, but I actually find live view with the E-3's flippy screen to be flexible enough without a remote monitor.

I can foresee at least one good use for it. It may eventually give me a reason to invest in Studio, which otherwise doesn't interest me.

That's an excellent feature. The E-1 did tethered shooting via it's firewire interface, though I think that was also only available for Studio. I was curious about what tethered capability was available with the E-3 now that FW has been left out, and this shows that my concerns are now unfounded . Would still like to avoid using Studio if possible for a lot of general work, but a great feature for product/still-life/macro shooting.
