I think the E-410 is no where near "invisible", so I don't get the "stealth aspect" that people say about it. You slap a 14-54 or 14-45 lens on it, and the lens is the same size as it is on a E-510. It doesn't get smaller too.
I think the E-410 is a nice little camera. If it fits the users hands, that is awesome. I got fat hands. It felt a bit small to me. The E-510 does too, but not as bad. Image stabilization on the E-510 is a nice addition, and the cost difference wasn't enough to not get it. |

I took the "size matters" approach and voted for the E-410, which superficially makes no sense because I bought the E-510. I "needed" it last summer for a major trip, in which I wanted a smaller and more modern camera than my E-1. It did a great job and I love the IS, and would not (did not) want the E-410.
...but now I have the E-3, which has all of the features that the E-510 does, and then some. So if I choose to carry the 510 instead, it's primarily because I don't need the additional capability as much as I want the smaller and lighter body. Honestly, if I could swap my E-510 for a E-410 in similar condition, I probably would. |

I have to say if I had to choose again, I would be split. I went for the e-410 when I did because I held the e-510, and it seems that it's not that much bigger, but when you get to the sizes, at least I find that the effect is not linear but exponential. To me the e-410 is fairly invisible for street life, thought the 510 can probably pass into that set too.
The E-3 is anything but invisible in that area for sure. I have been called paparazzi already with the E-3 four times, and I have barely shot a lot of street night life with it... - Raist |

I bought the E-510 and am happy with it. I will say this, however: if Olympus were to make a camera in the E-410 body, but put IS in it and put all the dedicated buttons on it that the E-510 has, I would buy it over the E-510.
