Default News from Panasonic (and a question)

Hi All!

FWIW, a new Panasonic Lumix DMC-L10 digital SLR was born today, as were two LEICA ELMAR lenses, a 14-50 (28-100 FoV) MegaOIS and a 14-150 (28-300 FoV) MegaOIS one.

And a question: has anyone shooting with a 4/3rd body with build-in IS actually used a MegaOIS lens on it?

If so: what was the effect on the IS'es? do they work together or is this counter productive?

Kindest regards!

Max@Home

I haven't, but I would think it would be counter productive. The IS works based on the motion they feel, not based on anything they see. With 2 working at the same time I would think the aggregate would be for an overcorrection nearly exactly equal to the amount they were supposed to correct in the first place.

It doesn't work. Cameralabs tried it out and it doesn't. There's this weird feedback of each system on each other and it's nasty.

The DMC-L10 looks rather underwhelming at the price tag that's being bandied about. I was expecting an improved L1, but it seems to be one step forwards two steps back. Maybe they're holding something back on that front, but for now I can't see it taking the world by storm...
