Default Help needed for E-510....

Hi folks, actually there are 2 things, as I got my E-510 yesterday:
1. for the Studio2 trial version I don't have a serial number either on the CD nor somewhere else - so I can't install that :-(
2. I tried a bit with the LV and wanted to manual focus with that enlargement square on the screen... when I then pushed the release button (after manual focusing), still the center of the pic, and not the area which I manually focused is sharp ... all was so easy on the E-330 - why is it so much different here?
Whats the use of the square when it's not working, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for advse...
Jan

Hmm you don't need one for the trial. If you install it you should be able to click on "try" and it should work for 30 days....

Hmm it shouldn't be.. I suggest you try using your camera in a tripod and make sure IS is set to off when in a tripod.

Thanks Raist for reply and your thoughts. The CD with the trial version of Studio2 def wants a serial number - other than the Master2 which works w/o being asked for that...

The thing with the LV and the enlargement square I'll try later as you suggestet...

.. solved the ridle regarding the enlargement square in LV...
when the normal focus mode is a combination with AF, also in LV and enlargement the modus is switched back to AF when pressing the shutter release and only the center of the pic is in focus and not the previously selected, enlarged one. It is also not poss to get a semi-AF of the enlarged area by pressing the AEL butten as in LV-B on the E-330 I think (at least I didn't manage to find that out ). That means for this purpose one has to switch actively to MF to get a sharp exposure of the enlarged area. The Starter Video suggests that one can just switch to the enlargement, then you are switched to MF and release, and the enlarged area is in focus - that part of the story is not true.
On the other side with the E-330 one has to be in LV-B for this little square, and (that I have forgotten) implies, that you also just can do MF...
Stupid me

I think the instruction in the camera manual is a bit unclear and could mislead (as it did me!). After playing a bit with it, it seems now to be no problem for me:

This (manual focusing) is only to get the image in focus while you're working, and not for taking the photo. But if you want to take the photo with this, just remember to keep the shutter release half-pressed while you're (manual) focusing, and press it all the way when you're ready to take the picture. Otherwise, the camera will (re-) AF (and cancel your adjustment!) when you press the shutter release.
However, if you don't like keeping the release half-pressed while manual focussing, then just switch the focus mode to MF, in stead of "S-AF + MF", which I assumed you were doing.

Yes, that's it - thanks for the hint
