I think long focal lengths are where the 4:3rds format should shine. I think these shots show that they're on their way there. Although I'd love a ZD 300mm f/2.8, the price is just astronomical. It's nice to see these lightweight long zoom lenses starting to appear. I recently picked up the 35-100mm f/2 and it's enormous! A fantastic lens and state of the art as far as optical construction goes, but we need more 70-300mm varieties. I'd love to see an f/4 300mm or even 400mm for example. That would keep the price and weight down and still deliver excellent results.

Btw, do you have an idea about the 2.0/14-35mm price which should come soon? That might be something tempting if not priced like gold... Jan |

I've seen the 14-35mm advertised here in the UK for £999 (around $2000). Unfortunately it is priced like gold in my opinion
. From what I've found when buying the 150 f/2 and the 35-100 f/2, it should be available for a few hundred less than that if you look around. Eventually I can see myself getting this lens. With the 7-14mm, the 35-100mm and the 150mm it will fill the gap nicely. But - I will never pay UK RRP prices. . |

![]() Firstly I have to get me such wizzards-lights called FL-36R, and then, what's next? May be the EC-20? Or the 2.0/14-35mm? What's nice with it, is the weight is less than 1Kg and it would be awsome in a church for a wedding or shots at an event/function with low light conditions... Oh, I don't wanna think ![]() I also thought of the 2.0/150mm instead of the 35-100mm - seems tempting ![]() ... thanks again Paul! Jan |

A member of the forum asked me if I've got some photos of little birds taken with the combi 70-300 + EC14. I indeed wanted to try that but at the place I went to, I was presented with only giant birds and as a result, I only needed to use the 70-300 (without the EC14). Anyway, here are a few taken with the lens and I hope they're still useful. As before, they're resized jpegs without pp:

Has anybody here used this lens on anything other than the E3?

Thanks, it looks as if I might be a first using it with the E-400, if the lens arrives safely.

Hi, There's a U-tube video by CameraLabs.com where he put a Leica 14-50 lens on an e3. He left both the in body stabilization and the OIS in the "on" position. The image came out terrible. Then, he took shots with either on and off and the shots came out great. So , it seems, from his report , that double dipping is not a good thing. Take a look and let me know what you think. Best, Dan

Even the camera manuals tell you NOT to double-dip like that. So if someone has to make a movie or show examples of why not to do it, they are just showing their inability to read the info that was presented. He would probably try to use IS when the camera is mounted on a tripod too.
