For those of you thinking about getting a split focus viewfinder to help with manual focus; I found this video which is certainly not HD but does provide a great idea about how easy it is to do.
YouTube - How to change Olympus E500 Focus Screen I would certainly not follow this exactly (as you will see fingers on focus ring a great deal) but it does show that it is not very difficult. Maddog __________________

Interesting video. I agree he seemed to manhandle the process a little bit. I've changed focusing screens many times on the old OM bodies, and they were tough enough for me - managed to break at least two screens in my time.
This looks like a much more delicate operation and I'd treat it very carefully indeed . |

Wow, this guy is brave! Well, I have exchanged the focusing screens on my E-500 and E-1, but I certainly would prefer to use some instruments instead of fingers. The procedure is easy in fact. I took some photos of the "patient" and the instrument used for the "operation".

I wouldn't want to be without. It was a tremendous upgrade for both cameras. If I remember correctly, everything seemed to be a bit on the bright side afterwards. I just set my exposure to -1.0 and correct if necessary in Lightroom. I shoot exclusively in RAW.
