Default EX25 Question

I've read that this will actually work as a tool to help shorten focus distance. I know nothing about extenders, or magnification ratios, so I was hoping for some help here. Will I be able to use this on my 40-150 for now and see a considerable shortening in min. focusing distance? Is that the true use for this tool?

Yes, it has worked on every lens I've tried it on, but I have not used it on zooms. Try the third-party versions. You'll get more for your money.

Yes you are correct, other pluses are 1.there are no glass elements so there is no image degradation and 2. slight increase in magnification. The negatives are 1. you must manual focus 2. You lose infinity focus and 3. well, I forgot what 3 is.

I have used the EX-25 on both the 50mm f2 macro and the 50-200. I loooooove it on the 50-200. Almost makes having the 50mm macro uneccessary. I do believe you lose a stop of light, but auto focused still worked with these two lenses. A great great tool to have
