Announcement imminent?

Seem some posts on other sites (sorry, I do go elsewhere now and again!), hinting at new products being announced next Monday. Should we expect something on the DSLR front? I guess it's not too long to wait and see...

I asked my local Samy's and the guy mentioned that Olympus succesor is coming next year. I suppose they can start selling those lenses though.

Yeah next spring seems to be the likely date - seems like a long way off though. I wonder how many possible switchers would be lost to *on over that time period?

If you go over to dpreview, the new 35-100 zoom is in the hands of some testers now. Here is a thread with some images:

We should see more lenses coming out the rest of this year, probably followed by 2 new bodies. I'll be surprised if we hear about those prior to 2006, though.

Good link (even if it is dpreview ). I really hope that Oly also do a wide angle prime that's not too slow but also not too expensive. I'm loving using my old Zuiko glass but really miss something around the 21-24mm mark (in 35mm scale)...

Interesting. I'm not so sure I agree with the "so sharp I cut myself" comment, judging from the pics posted, anyway.

No, me neither. The flower shots in particular reminded me of what I've been capturing with my 20 year old 50mm Macro (current value around $100) on the E-1 - but not quite as sharp .

I suspect that if I were the first one holding one of these babies though ... I'd be shaking .... so that at least explains the shots.
I'd have sense to not put up my "finest" work if it looked like that .... as opposed to him.

I hope he hasn't signed up here, otherwise he may have a contract on you Pavel...

It looks like he had set exposure compensation from a previous shoot and forgotten to reset it...
