Default Olympus Wish List

What products would you like Olympus to come out with?

I know what I would like, but I doubt if too many other people have this on their lists: I wish they would come out with some reasonably priced lenses for the E system. The ZD lenses are excellent, but except for the kit lenses they are expensive. The 50-200 costs MORE than my E-300 twin lens kit. Specifically I would really like to see some primes added to the line-up.

I'm really happy with what I've got at the moment. Having some old lenses to give interest makes a difference. I'm pretty confident that Oly will pull something interesting out of the bag in the DSLR market. Definitely some more primes (wide-angle) would be good, but without the 'boutique' price tags. Also they need a partner to really get more market share - if the alliance with Panasonic/Matsullamaa comes off then they would have some serious marketing muscle which can make a difference.

It should be interesting times in the next 6 months or so. I'll still be clicking away with the E-1 for a while yet, and my 20 year old om2 is still going strong. If in say two years time there is not an Oly body that matches other vendors offerings then it may be time to look around, but so far it all looks positive.

I would actually like to see a wide angle tilt and shift lens. That would help with some of the architectural shots I take. Without have to do lots of post processing to fix the parralex (sp?) event.

I see OM shift lenses on ebay fairly often. They are expensive, though. I wonder of they would work with the adapter on E cameras?

I don't see any reasaon why they would not work - although I would interested in seeing examples.

They are still very expensive, and you're going to lose that wide-angle capability on the E-x sensor.

They should. In order to work with 35mm full format - the shift lenses had to have extra-large image circles, bigger than the base 35mm format. (Like a large format lens to accomodate shifts and tilts). That should mean you've got (from a four-thirds perspective) a gigantic image circle to work with. Those lenses always seemed most useful though, when they were wide angle. Even the 0M 24mm shift with it's stratospheric price is not exactly wide on a four-thirds.

I know, that 24mm is expensive and would only be a normal (48mm) lens equivalent on the 4/3rds size sensor. But, that would still be nice.

I would like to see a 9mm or even a 12mm prime tilt and shift lens from Olympus.
