it doesn't have the metering prong

I was about to say "You could add the metering prong... look at the two guide marks on the aperture ring for drilling the holes to screw on the metering prong" and then I saw this sentence which I wholeheartedly commend and agree with:

I wanted to spare my old gal the plastic AFDs too

We had an old dented 85mm f/2.0 AIS that looked dead in our gear cabinet; I'm guessing it was there before most of us in the office were born. A fellow shooter took it out for a spin once, and it seemed to still be aligned, but the scratches on the front and dust made for significantly reduced contrast.

Good review of the f:2.0 in the Nikon forum. Thanks. I too would be eager to see how this lens performs on film.
