Hi
Need help shutter is stuck open on my x500 tried new battery's help

Here are some things to try:
1. Make sure the battery is installed the right way.
2. Can you move the speed dial to B? Try that and see if the mirror resets itself.
3. If you can take the lens off, see if the mirror is stuck to the foam inside the prism box.

If it hasn't been used in awhile, it may need a trip to the camera shop for some adjustment.

Hi ships,

edited: WELCOME TO THE CAMEL!

I emailed your question to my camera-repairman, he suggests it is the second curtain that is stuck, a mechanical problem.

If the tips from Latinbob don't work, try taking out all batteries and move speed dial to B and see if a reset occurs.

If not, the repair shop is your best bet. Repairing this would 'only' cost about $/€ 75 in The Netherlands.
