A year later, I just bought another Yashiamat on eBay. Looks pretty in the photos. Has the case and lens cap. Seller says it works. Oh, been there before, have I?

All I can do is wait and hope. I do still have the original one as a parts mule, if needed.

Hopefully, this one will not need any immediate repairs. By the photos and description this one is a bargain. But my experience with that is not reassuring. At least this time it is from the guy who owned it, not some one who found it at a yard sale. It is due here on Friday. Anticipation is making me wait (grin).

Also, I just realized today that every time I feel bad (health wise) I buy another camera. No wonder I have so many.

Well, it really needs a bit of tender loving care, but it looks nice.

You can read more about it on my blog: http://graywolfphoto.com/journal/201...er-yashicamat/

Developed the roll of Fomapan 100 film. Shutter is running very slow, everything except one flash shot is looking at least 2 stops slow. The camera acts like the mechanicals are packed full of dirt. Not sure what to do about that.

This is going to be my last post in this thread. Further posts will be in a new thread. Or I may just put new comments in my blog.

OK, so I lied, but I thought this about the older camera would be interesting.=:

I was looking at it the other day and checked to see if it was still cocking the shutter at shorter focusing distances. It was, the shutter will cock if the camera is focused closer than about 10 feet. Then I had a thought, as I very occasionally do, will it fire if I then focus father away?

Yep, it will. So the camera has been sitting there all this time, when I could have been using it with that slight work around. It is really a nicer camera than the newer one; which, by the way, has oil one the inside of the rear taking lens cell, so seriously needs a CLA.
