I like the landscape version better. I migh even move her more to the left in the frame to open up some negative space on the right.
Nice shot, she's a pretty model.

Actually, now that I look again, I do like the first crop too since it's not so abbreviated below her waist, but it's still a bit close to center for my off-balance taste.

I've changed my mind: none of the above. I like #1, but I would crop it closer above her hands, so that there's less wall to deal with visually.

Is #1 the full frame or a crop ?

It would be better to see the whole image to make a determination.

For me crop no. 2, because the bottom transition of black to skintone, including the 'stone bulb' distracts me.

Here is the original. I'm trying to crop off the feet. I'm sure you can see why. Feel free to try it yourself. I'm trying to stick with a 4x5/8x10 crop.

Cropped so there are no disturbing details and the lefteye is on the upperleft intersectionpoint made by the rule of thirds.

Chip,

I think your crop gets the edge on this one. I like the model's right hand closer to the top left of the photo, and it also eliminated the "V" created by the corner where the block comes together to the left of the model's face. Puts more emphasis on the model herself.

For her origainal post and for a portrait print over a landscape I would have just cropped a bit closer. I don't lke the slight leg showing in the first one, but I liked it better of the two. Here is my attempt.
