I like the second. Even though it centers the face, the details and colors seen in the feathers on the left side make the picture more alluring.

It depends on the subject of the photo.* If her eyes are the main subject, I like number 1.* If the feathers are the main subject then number 2.* *I general I like number 1 best although I might have moved the eyes off of dead center horizontally.

I would have to say it depends on what you are trying to achieve with the photo. If you want the powerful impact of the eyes, the first one. If you are looking to make it look like she is hiding then the second. I prefer the look of #1 myself.

I like #1 A LOT but the blown out spot on the feather won't let me leave my eyes on her eyes. I think I'd burn it out a bit. JMHO...

Tony...
What else than the eyes would be the main subject in this pic?* I disagree that the eyes have to be in the centre to make them the main subject.
Pic nr 2. I want a crop from the left upper corner and then stop 2cm to the right of her left eye. (keep the aspect ratio) This makes also the eyes to leave the horisontal centre line and there will be less fethers below her face. Thats how i like it!

Hey Matts I think you changed my perspective on the shot - its funny how sometimes you can bend the rules and it works better. Thanks for all the contributions so far it was very helpful to me.

Is there a rotation difference in the crops? I prefer the 1st as the eyes are more level - plus - the expression is more evident.

Good point McDon - I did rotate the closer crop to level the eyes - so mixing this with Matt's views I came up with this:

what do you think?

This is also nice Derek.
As you know I usually donīt play with the ratio that much and try to keep the ratio out from the camera.
