Hi all..
Below are images of my Zumba wear photosession today. I want to thank Bobby Deal for sharing the white background setup. I tried my best to work it out as per his instructions and I hope it worked out. Any comment is much appriciated. AAH 1. ![]() 2. ![]() 3. ![]() 4. ![]() __________________

Nice shots. However, it appears you may have lost some contrast in your model on the white background shots. Possibly caused by the model being too close to the background or the background being a little too hot.

+1 on lkeeney. The first is my pick but the others are all good.
Try a touch of black point and contrast changes in LR4 to recover most of the lost contrast. Keep the background overexposure to no more than +1 stop to avoid this loss of contrast due to lens flare. A white tileboard underfoot helps get you a pure white floor since it reflects some of the background light. Of course that will give you a reflection of the subject you will want to erase if you are going for Bobby's pixel perfect isolation. |

The model was about 2 meters away from the background but I am not sure if the background light was only +1. this will be the thing I have to look at next time ![]() Sailor, thanks alot about the tileboard tip. will get one soon for sure because yestreday my white paper became really dirty and very fast! i will cut that peace so that might prevent it from getting dirty that fast. Also it will be possible to keep the subject reflection or remove it which is also cool Quote:

Very well done Aah you followed the plan very well and the result show it. The on white work looks excellent, I agree that rhere is a loss of contrast on the first shot but it is not from wraparound light it is simply from the very flat nature of the lighting setup. While for a finished piece to hang on the wall it is too flat for a piece that is going to be licensed to a designer as a stock element the shot is perfectly executed. In this image the designer need undo no predetermined shadow pattern, he simply drops the image in his background adds a bit of shadow here and there to make it match the light of the background and he ends with an excellent composite that does not look like a composite.
If you want to bring the contrast back so that her face has some sculpting to it all that it usually takes is a quick adjustment to the midtones in Levels and a slight increase in Black in both the Red and Black channels of Selective color. |

I am really happy now to hear those words from you. Back to the old thread regarding the studio size/full body shoots. I would like to tell you that I used the 50mm on cropped sensor body in my home studio to take these shots and the model was about 2 meters away from the background. Thankfully the space was just enough. I hope you like the focal length in the photos? |
