Love the way you shoot themes.

My arthritis attack is finally lessening after 5 months and I soon hope to get back to shooting a theme or two I dreamed up while unable to do any photography.

Do you storyboard your ideas? Do you discuss them and take suggestions from assistants, hair & makeup, etc., or just go with your own idea?

Sailor, this shoot came together on the fly in about 15 minutes during last years Fat Tuesday Party at the studio. The set had been built for the party but at that time we had no idea who would be showing up or how they might be dressed. So it was a fly by the seat of the pants shoot.

Just goes to show how important experience is, when you can pull off that spur of the moment shot. Well done Bobby.

Thanks Songman I suppose experience does ease the way a little. This was one of those times where we mixed speed lights with gels hidden in the set with a big 5' soft box and moonlight to create a controlled lighting autmosphere with 3 different colors of light

It is under the crystal ball (over turned fish bowl. which is sitting atop a clear glass mixing bowl with the sb 800 and cyber sync under it firing right up into his face. There are two more sb 600s with blue and green on them one is clipped to a stand just out of frame camera left and the other is attached to what we call a Voice Operated Lightstand (AKA Assistant) holding it and pointing it as directed.
