A new model, Catalina... C& C welcome...

Morning All,

I had the pleasure several weeks ago of meeting Catalina and her family. They are delightful people. A mutual friend suggested to her that I could do some nice photos of her.

The upshot was that I met her on the thursday to discuss clothing for a formal shoot on the following saturday and that if she was comfortable with that, perhaps also bring some outfits for a fashion shoot. She had always wanted some nice photos taken for herself but it had never happened.

The informal hi key portrait was done first. That will be posted in the portraits forum later. The conditions in the studio were very hot and humid. It made the session physically uncomfortable but Catalina was thrilled with the session and the results. Her husband was equally delighted with them and they would both like to have an ongoing relationship for photoshoots.

The lighting was once again problematic. I really do need to get better strobes instead of the speedlights I have right now. I also now have a beauty dish on the buy next list.

A few different outfits later and these are the result. Remember, she has never modelled. I thought she did an excellent job for a first timer.... Some of the backgrounds at feet level have had to be cloned in same as the shadows. I am working on the flooring for full length hi key shots. I'm learning more and more each session I do...

All very nice,on #1 you might clone out the hair showing below her arm pit on her right arm, a bit distracting.on #7 the wrinkles in the skin on the right arm pit. Great Job!!

She's really cute and you did a great job with her.

Some nits: the hair across her face in # 1 and I'm not crazy about the crop in #s 9 & 10 but that could be just me. You clipped off her toe in # 8.

On the other hand, I LOVE #s 2, 4 & 5.

Very nice, Onslow. I like them all. The first one would be nicer without the hair in her face & under the armpit, as has already been pointed out by others.

Ah Crap, I was going to leave it but now it's been called ARMPIT hair, I have to do something about it. I guess looking on the full res it was quite easy to see that it's her hair. But, the lower res one is a bit more difficult. I'll remove it in an edit and repost the armpit hair one as well as the wrinkle on the shoulder...

Ok, I've now edited the two images for hair and wrinkles.....!
