Can someone explain what is going on with my computer. I have CS4 and Elements 7. I decided to delete allot of the garbage photos on my computer. I used Elements 7 for this because I can scroll all of my photos instead of jumping from folder to folder. Here is my problem. I hold down the control key and click on all of the photos I want to delete. Those photos become highlighted, but some photos that I didn't click on ( photos I want to keep ) also become highlighted. When I click the delete key all of these photos get deleted and then when I return there are some more photos that I didn't click on mysteriousely highlighted. I returned everything from the recycle bin but now I am reluctant to delete anything because of this problem and I have an awful lot of garbage photos to get rid of. Fiinally, I have been very careful not to accidentally lean on the shift key while highlighting individual photos

When you hold the control key and click on pictures 1, 2, and 3, they get selected/highlighted. If you then click e.g. picture 6 all pictures between the last one selected – 3 – and the next one you select/click – 6 – will also be selected/highlighted. So that's pictures 4 and 5 too.
I.o.w. when you use the control key you can only select consecutive files. Not a few here and a few there. So if you want to delete photos select a consecutive series and delete them. Then select the next bunch of consecutive pictures, and delete them. And so on, so forth. You can't select and delete them all at the same time if they're not consecutive. |

The Ctrll key should just select individual photos, using the Shift key should select consecutive photos. I think lowbone is doing this correctly and I don't have the solution!

it is a program that realy erases data unlike the recylce bin
Eraser if i ever have to recycle a pc and it is no longer working good and costs are too high to get it working again i use this program as a start to erase all the data, than the harddisk goes in my game station where i let Spinrite low level format the harddisk so that there realy is no way to get my data back .. but before i do i make a backup of all data i want to keep.. i just don't want to be like a (here in holland) well known officer of the court who thought that his computer was useless Peter R de vries found out that there was still valueable and very important data on the harddrive that if fallen in to the wrong hands could have caused severe problems i believe the guy's name is joost tonino just goole it up.. |

A useful tool, but there is no erase function, only overwrite.
