I'm very tempted by this model, but one of the reviewers noted a high-pitched noise coming out of it while in power-saving mode. That would be a deal breaker for me. I've had a monitor (CRT) in the past that emitted a high-pitched noise, and it was aggravating.

This, though, seems to be a cut above the typical 30-inch LCD. Most if not all other models of this size have no picture adjustment capabilities other than brightness. I had a Samsung 30-inch model that I had to return because the screen uniformity (color across the screen) was very poor. For some reason the 30 inch models seem to present technical challenges that have yet to be overcome.

I would expect the NEC model to be an exception, however. I'm very impressed with the "smaller" 25.5 inch model.

Never used it. I read from the reviews left by others about the NEC, though, that it's better than the Apple. Either way, I've decided to stick with the 25.5-inch NEC until I'm sure that the bugs have been worked out of the 30-inch models.

The real estate of the 30" is nice--believe me.
