Promised someone to give a CD of an event he helped me take picture of, but it turned out that the pics are 1.0GB+ in total; so a CD won't hold them all. And since I don't know if he has a DVD in his computer, was wonder if a CD drive can show pics in a DVD.
Pardon the silly question and thanks for any help. __________________

No a CD drive will not play a DVD. Burn them on two CDs or make the pictures smaller

Thanks Russell. But D**n, some more work >

DVD is the easiest, but two cd's really aren't much more work. Easier than resizing all of the images. If you do have to resize them all, do a batch in PS and go to lunch. If you don't know how to batch, PM me, I'll walk you thru it.

It seems he is into putor stuff so it will be a surprise if he doesn't have a DVD. Just sms'ed him so he will tell shortly.

Thanks Joe. I think a patch resize is not a practical option. But I'll take your and Russell's advice and burn two CDs if he doesn't have a DVD.
Thanks guys. Speaking of which, what's your preferred program to burn two CDs in sequence (sorry, forgot the technical term for it). |

I meant when a CD is full the drive will ask you to insert a new plank CD to continue copying the rest of the files. A better way, imo, is to be able to measure the total size as you are selecting files. Unfortunately I don't know of such utility/program.

As you put the pictures in the TO BURN area, you should see a bar along the bottom indicating how much space you have used and how much is remaining. I would put around 500MB on the first CD and see which file you ended with and then start with the next file in sequence and put the remaining photos on the second CD.

). Btw, the guy sms'ed back and he has a DVD. Problem solved. Again, thank you very much guys for the help, it's very well appreciated. |
