I'm a Tab Fanatic - - - how many tabs have you got open?
My sons laugh when they come to my place and my 24" 1920x1280 monitor is lined from side to side with tabs of open websites in Firefox. Oh - but that is only my PC workstation. To my left is my Macbook with a whole set of findings much different much different than I have on my PC - - - websites all open and lined up from screen edge to screen edge on its tiny 13" screen. Here is the look of my PC workstation web browser at this moment as I make checks and updates of websites and forums, email, flickr, twitter and who knows what else I'll have to check into regularly today and every day *LOL. The list of tabbed sites open at 2:00PM today, is down the right side: ![]() ---- __________________

A new trend has begun
tab-weeny (people who think they use tabs until they see my screen shot) tab-aholic (people like me) tab-tastic (praise for extreme tab usage) Hey a whole new vocabulary for Tab Users (and Tab drinkers I suppose - maybe the 2 should unite )Got any good ones? |

One of the better forum responses (ILP):
"Hi. My name is Kimberly and I'm a tabaholic. It's been 26 days since I last closed all my tabs. Glad to know I'm not alone." |

Not wishing to brag but often I have to hit the little scrolling arrow for about 3 seconds to get to the last open tab.

OK - here is a list of all of the "tab-isms" that I have received from photographers so far:
tab-weeny (people who think they use tabs until they see my screen shot) tab-aholic (people like me) tab-tastic (praise for extreme tab usage) tab-aphobia (afraid of having too many tabs open) tabi-tasking (the equivalent of online multi-tasking) tab-envy (there's always somebody with more tabs open than you) tab-challenged (someone who constantly forgets they can open more than one tab) tab-noramus (someone who has NO idea that they can open more than one tab) tab-master (someone who has 29 tabs open on their laptop and 8 on their desktop, SIMULTANEOUSLY) t.o.c.d (someone who constantly clicks from tab to tab, just in case. You know. You can never be too sure...) tab-oo (an Olympus user like me, who keeps tabs open of Nikon or Canon forums) tab-asco (someone having so many tabs open that it becomes too HOT to handle and turns into a FIASCO) tab-lets (children of extreme tab user) tab-ernacle (tab users caravan) tabby-cat (alogue) (to keep tabs on all the tabs you have open) tab-isms (all of the above) |

I got addicted to tab-ism yesterday, I was trying to find a name for a flower, grrr, so frustrating, I was opening what seemed like 50 plus tabs, plus still googling everything and opening up more tabs on top of that, hilarious it was

On a Firefox side note:
I'll tell you one of my favourite Add-ons (BEING THAT I AM SUCH A CRAZY TAB USER - OPENING UP LINKS INTO NEW TABS LIKE A WILD MAN) . . . . . . and that is "EASY DragToGo". With it, you simply grab any link on a webpage with your mouse or in my case my tablet pen - and it opens the linked webpage in a new tab. With my configuration - if I drag the link up, the tab opens on top and if I drag the link down, the tab opens with my current page still showing (used when I want to check a link later). I'll tell you that once you get used to being able to do that, it is a real pain when you are on a computer where it doesn't have that feature and you are dragging the links and nothing happens - having instead to right click and select "Open Link In New Tab". The EASY DragToGo Add-on is another addictive feature like Tabs. Dare I get you addicted to that one too, and provide the link? I'm trouble, so here it is: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6639 ------ |

I guess the best question would be....HOW MUCH RAM do you have? Each of those tabs or applications will be eating up Ram slowing your computer down. I guess if you have enough Ram...you wont notice much.
