Default Raw files from 1D mk III

I just tried to view a bunch of recently shot raw files from my new 1D MKIII and they don't open in CS2 or Bridge. Anyone know the solution to this? I'm off to search the canon forums.

I guess if you're using CS2, like me, they have quit updating their codec support. Now you have to update or convert to DNG and process.

Yup, convert using the free DNG converter or use the Canon DPP software, which might be the best camera brand RAW software out there. Or try Lightroom. They will open in there.

DPP will also work, you can convert to TIFF there. Although I agree with Pickles and suggest you convert them to DNG.

Yep, figured that out too. I'm just not used to using DPP. Will probably pick up CS4 and Lightroom, shortly.

Way to go ... you will like the local adjustments in LR. DPP is so troublesome to use IMO.

If you go with Lightroom, you can continue to use CS2 for deeper editing.

Very true you can right click edit in Photoshop right from the LR2 raw image and it copies it directly to CS2 or 3 or even 4 I guess. No need for RAW conversion as LR did it already. and the best part the CS edit photo automatically becomes available in LR for further work in the LR2 workflow.
