Default Macs do Windows XP...natively

Macs can boot straight to Windows XP, not just run a windows app. Did you know that? If not, lookie here at this link from Latinbob:

http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/

What you think about that?

I wish they had offered this a few months ago. I desperately wanted to get a 20" iMac but the cost of replacing all my windows software was cost-prohibitive. And some things, like Qimage, don't run on macs. I love my 24" widescreen Dell, but this might have swayed me to the other side.

What about running OS X on a generic Intel chipped PC box? Has anyone managed that with the new Mactel OS ? I'd love to try that out.
