Default CF Help!!

Hi guys
Wondering if anyone has had this problem.
I purchased a Kingston 16gb elite pro 133x compactflash card then after formatting the card in-camera lost half of the disc space it now reads 7.8gb.
and after contacting kingston went through the software provided and got all the space back it still will not work with my camera "ERR CF" .
Will my card work in another camera?
should I send it back for another?
or is there a way to fix this card?

your help is needed please!!
lesmcluckie

Try creating a folder on your card with the name your camera usually creates. I know 1 time on my D70, I deleted the folder on the card and had to do some fanangling around to fix it.

You could also try reformatting your card in your camera again. What type of camera do you own? Are you sure it takes 16gb cards? (just trying to cover all the bases)

did the folder thing but still would`nt work
its the canon eos 350d which I checked compatability with and it was ok
but the company where I bought the card said that you cant format the card in-camera
and should only format in the computer (bit late) so the only other option is to return card for another and only format in-computer next time until I up-grade my camera next year.
thanks

Not familiar with Canons, but the company said dont format in camera Thats crazyness. Is that due to an issue with the camera, because I have heard that in camera formatting is the best way to avoid file corruption and other issues.
