I was shopping for a new mouse to work with Photoshop. I wanted some extra buttons for shift and alt. But at the prices for good mice, I started looking at tablets.
Are they really good for photo editing in PS ? Which ones are people using?? (budget please, I'm broke) Thanks Lee __________________

I, to, am left handed for writing, but do everything else right handed. I was wondering which hand I would use the pen in.( My left is useless with a mouse) ![]() Lee |

Thanks all for the feedback.
I think I'll put a tablet on the Christmas list. Can I do any better than the Wacom Bamboo Fun (small) for my first tablet? Lee |

I have Wacom Bamboo tablet, and find it nice to work with. However, a tablet takes quite a bit of getting used to. Play a good bit to familiarize yourself and have a blast! I use it mostly in Painter; in Photoshop, it's kind of tedious for maneuvering about. it really is mostly a "get used to it" thing. I think you'll realy love using one.

My wife has a larger wacom that she uses but we;ve had an old smaller one sitting around for a long time and i finally got it out a couple of weeks ago and started using it. I don't use it exclusively and it does take getting used to but I am getting there - patience and persistence!

Thanks all for the input.
I picked up a Bamboo Fun (small) the other day. LOVE IT!!!!! Took less than one game of Solitare to get used to it. I made a couple custom pens for it so I have opacity on the pressure. Should end up to be a powerful tool if I ever learn Photoshop. I need a small keyboard so the two will fit on my desk pullout. It keeps getting better as I fill in the pop up menu. What are people putting in their pop up menu? I would assume some keyboard shortcuts? Thanks again Lee |

Just read these posts on tablets, and had a question.
Do you need a tblet pen and mouse, and the the tablet mouse work with you computer screen as well or, do you need one of each? I have Adobe programs, do I need any other software to make the system work for me? |

The tablet comes with a pen and a mouse that works only of the tablet. You do not need a mouse at all, the pen can do everything but type. Although my regular mouse still works normal as long as the pen is away from the tablet. So short answer, you use the software that comes with the tablet, and you can use pen only, pen with tablet mouse, pen with your mouse, or either mouse at any time, your choise. Very versitle. Hope that made sense. ![]() Lee |
