I really would like to see a trial upgrade offered
![]() The upgrade from CS3 to 4 sounds pretty good especially like the new raw functions and better linking between bridge. But is it worth it? __________________

there's nothing to say that you can't get by with an older version of Photoshop. This version, like many, just adds a few features here and there. If you want, here's John Nack's blog post on the new version.
I've had it since the day it was released at the store for download and it hasn't gotten in my way. I had to adjust how I work with Curves, but that's because Curve adjustment layers no longer work as a dialog. It takes a moment to figure out, but I find it's an improvement. Bridge is considerably faster on my Mac. Bridge CS3 was kind of a dog; CS4 is vastly improved. If you ever open a folder with more than 20 images, the improvement is worth it. I'm finding that I use Bridge more often now; before the painfully slow speed meant I'd find other ways to handle batch tasks that Bridge can actually do really well. |

You can download a trial version for 30 days, I believe. Go to https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/i...duct=photoshop
Not sure how long it will take to download the file, but best of luck to you. Jerry |

It doesn't help with an upgrade but:
If anyone in your household can qualify for an higher ed, academic discount, CS4 Extended is 80% off right now, just over $200 with shipping. |

And a couple years later I upgraded to CS. That's what I said when I used CS. And a couple years later I upgraded to CS3. That's what I'm saying now I'm using CS3. So I guess tradition requires me to upgrade to CS5 next... ![]() So, no David, I won't be upgrading to CS4. Tradition forbids it. |

I'm running Photoshop CS3 too.. RAW & Bridge are the only CS4 attraction for me at this time, but since I'm still enjoying CS3, I'm contemplating the upgrade.

If you shoot RAW you have to upgrade to keep current. The old ACR will not be updated. So, I upgraded (bit the bullet) and now that I've gotten used to some of the differences I'd say it is worth it. Heck, it is worth it just to get the adjustment brush in ACR...very powerful!
