What does your computer need to run 2 monitors? I think that would be great when using Photoshop and Lightroom.

Can anyone recommend one or two good dual monitor cards for editing use only, not for gaming? This might help Harleysdad, I know it would help me.
Thanks. |

I just took delivery of this: Newegg.com - HIS Hightech H260XTP512DDN-R Radeon HD 2600XT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported iSilence III Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards Will let you know how it goes. But I have several fanless cards, and all are dual-monitor capable (two DVI outputs). |

Depending on your system, you can add another video card, keep in mind it is best to stay with the same card technology, ATI or NVIDIA. Also what type of connectors are on your monitor, VGA or DVI ? My NVIDIA card supports two monitors, one VGA and one DVI. keep in mind any graphics intensive work will heat up your card, I do not like fan noise either but I always put a larger fan on my video cards. Noise verse graphics issues due to an over heated card, you decide.
If you are going to be running CS2 or newer you may want to look at using a single 22 inch wide screen or even larger if you can afford it. Hope this helps some. |

Another thing to consider is on the PC side you need to run two video cards if you want to color calibrate both monitors. Generally people put tools on the second monitor so that is not a concern but even two identical monitors may not match exactly.
I an not certain but i think Macs can run two different profiles on the same card. Do they still make video cards with only one monitor connection? If your monitors are both 30 inch monitors you need to check that both ports are dual DVI capable. __________________
