Smile New to Editing.......

I am new to the new age of editing. I was just wanting some suggestions. I have been looking at elements, lightroom, and cs3. I would like to get something user friendly. Any suggestions, pro's and cons will be appreciated.

Adobe makes the most powerful editing software. Its not user unfriendly but it is daunting to say the least. Its tough to say which of your options bests suits what you want and need. I'd skip lightroom unless your eidtiing is going to be very minimal. Elements meets the need of a lot of digital camera folk who are not photographers. My mom has been "fixing" her vacation travel pictures for years now with elements. Think of it as Photoshop Lite. The CS, stands for Creative Suite and it has the complete bag of factory installed options.

Whats missing in Elements or what can you do in CS that you cant in Elements? Tough to tell. The answer would include terms and examples that unless you were already an avid user, you could not understand. I do not find CS to be any more difficult to operate than Elements. For me, I fugured if I'm going to learn a whole new vocabulary and skill set, I might as well go all the way.

Before you spend hundreds on software that you don't know what to do with (yet), you had better acquaint yourself with the concept of editing without risking that much money, Mickey.

Have a look at this list of graphics editing applications. On the right side are the FREEware and SHAREware apps. Try a few.

You may also like to try some online editing possibilities, also FREE, like Snipshot.com, Photoshop Express Online, or Picnik.com.

Have fun!
