I'm looking for feedback on this fix on the fly approach MicroSoft has taken. Is this pack troublesome? What are the good points about it? What are the bad? Anything you can offer is welcome. I did download it and discovered all of my Favorites had disappeared so I deleted it and went back to SP2. If it really does not do much for a system, is there a way to stop the download notification for this? It has become somewhat annoying to have to click on the X everytime I log on. Thanks in advance.

I love XP SP3 and I hate XP SP2
They are like 2 different OS Your best bet is to integrate SP3 into your installation CD using Nlite, then remove components that are superfluous. SP2 is a bloat monster compared to a slimmed SP3! Cheers, Craig (10 years building and fixing PCs) p.s. I can send you my "recipe" for Nlite to make what I call a skinny XP SP3, called lastsession.ini. |

OK, for anyone familiar with Nlite who would like to try my skinny Windows, here are my lastsession.ini files :
http://tinyurl.com/6nnusl I recommend integrating SP3 into your "CD" using Nlite Any Win XP CD can be used as SP3 will bring SP0 SP1 or SP2 up to SP3. Even an "upgrade" CD can be used, you'll just need to pop in a Win 98 or Win 2000 CD in the drive during installation to prove that you are in fact "upgrading". If you'd like to try "skinny Windows" but aren't techno-savvy, PM me and I'll send you instructions. Cheers, Craig __________________
