I'm going to be upgrading my workstation and will be using dual monitors for processing/printing my images on a P.C. What kind of video card would you recommend and also which brand of monitors would you suggest?

I'd get a 64-bit Mac Pro Octo core with 32GB of RAM and 2 or 3 30" Cinema Displays to be sure to get a system that keeps me editing instead of fumbling and fidgeting with registers, dll's, BSODs, and the never ending onslaught of well over 120,000 Windows viruses, worms, and trojans.

And for P.C? Or is that not even an option?

Be real careful with your video card.
I went with a nivada gforce and have since disconnected one monitor.I had issues with my calibration had to recalibrate ever time i switched users on windows and a few other small problems.. I like ben Q for monitors or should i say dream of them . |

Me I currently run only one LCD a 24" Dell and I can edit photos (12mp) at 50% size width wise and only need to move up and down when working on Portrait orientation photos. (which is about 50% of my pics from events and 99% of my studio shots)
I am planning a dual video card that supports 2 DVI connections so I can add my 2nd 24" LCD. they run about 100$ for a good one , make sure it has at least 512mb RAM LR2.0 has a dual monitor feature that works kinda cool. |

I am not sure how seriously you are about your editing or if this is a profesional endeavor.
For starters I love my PC and have very few problems with Vista or XP and when I do have issues I can fix them my self. I also love workng on two monitors, and my reason for questioing your seriousness is to point out that you can not calibrate two monitors without having two graphics cards to store the profiles on. I don't have two graphics cards and it is not a huge issue, but my photos look different on each monitor. I just make sure that the one that is calibrated is the one that I do my main editing on. |
