Silly question: Print Screen

Many time I wanted to post a pic of the screen. Got the pic, pasted it on Excel or Word. Then what? Is that the right way to go about it. If not, how do you save a "print screen" as a photo.

Just hit print screen and then in PS hit ctrl N for a new canvas (which will default to the size of whatever is on the clipboard) and then ctrl V to paste it in. Flatten and save. Done.

I don't know if the keyboard shortcuts are the same but it should basically work the same way.

New canvas > paste > save as ...

The cut and paste deal works in all kinds of programs. Even works in MS Paint .........

If you want to do it right, you'll save it as a .gif. It comes out a lot better. JPEG compression can mess up the fonts,requiring you to resharpen the image if you resize it.

John, you are right, the one I tried (jpeg) was messed up, you can hardly read what's in it.
