I currently own Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI, I would love to buy Adobe Photo Shop, but it's a little more than I can afford at this time! Are there any other programs that are inexpenxive that would be better than the program that I currently have??
Thank You for any Help!! Marcie __________________

Depends on your definition of "inexpensive". What aren't you getting from what you currently have that you want in another program?

PSP does a lot from what I understand. It's just a matter of learning how to use it.
A nice compromise on cost vs performance is Adobe Photoshop Elements. Much less expensive than CS3 but most of the same features, just scaled down. The added bonus is that a lot of photo mags and books focus on this product compared to non-Adobe apps. |

If you are a student or have children you could look into www.academicsuperstore.com. They have full versions of software for purchase at sometime 50% or more off if full retail.

I'm just tossing out another alternative out there: Paint.NET. It seems pretty powerful and the price is great: Free!
I haven't used it extensively, but it's got layers, user-created plugins, a slew of image adjustments etc... and a very clean layout. Can't hurt to try, right? |

Dear froglover
There is another Free Image editing software called Photobie. It has eveything a good image editing software should have. It has layers like Photoshop You can also use Photoshop *.8Bf filters in it.The most important fact is It has a Forum which answers all your questions and you can even ask how to do this. The designer of the software is also avialable to solve your problems. It has got least learning curve of all the softwares presently avialable in the market. Please try the software you may download the latest version from Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com. Thanks Yaksha |

Here's a fairly comprehensive listing of photo editors. Many have free trial periods. Try the FREEWARE apps on the right!
And don't forget the online alternatives like Snipshot.com, or Photoshop Express. |

You might try Rawtherapee, free to download and if you like it they ask for a small donation. This is what I use for my raw files. What you have is a pretty good program from what I hear, and you should be able to do quite a bit with it. Best regards, Ray
