Trying to do an survey...
How many monitors / what resolution do you run at? My config - http://vehiclehitech.com/pictures/PossiblyTooMuch.JPG 5040x1050 plus the 1050x1680 stood vertically (the mount lets me change orientation, but vertical makes reading webpages, ebooks, etc very nice and it sort of doesn't fit on the desk w/ the laptop). Video cards are an 8800gt and a 6200 onboard dual head card (outer 2 only run at 16 bit color, but oh well). Total 7,056,000,000 pixels Plus the 17" vostro with the 1920x1200 screen (another 2,304,000 pixels) and the 15" dell XPS (not shown) with the 1920x1200 screen (yet another 2,304,000 pixels). My former setup was 2 21" sony trinitrons running at 2048x1536 each. I do a bunch of panoramas and remote network admin stuff on multiple servers so this isn't entirely frivolous (and I got 2 of the LCDs from a client who didn't want to pay to ship them across the continent when they moved, and the other 2 for $98 each as they were "fire stock" - my work burned down just before Christmas, so I figured $200 was worth it to be able to toss the 2 200W CRT space heaters for the summer ![]() I'm thinking of mounting them in a 2x2 configuration, but I'd need a new desk and to spend a fair bit on wood working / getting the vesa (?) mounts. Next question... Where to find high res wallpaper ![]() __________________

Just curious...Since the resolution differs on several of the monitors, how does a panorama across all five look?
Is there really a practical value to having that many monitors? Or did you do it just because you could? How about calibration? Are they all calibrated the same? Jack |

I can use the vertical one too, but I typically have all the photoshop stuff - layers, actions, color channels, etc windows on it. Unfortunately, there isn't an easy way to extend the desktop onto the laptop. Beautiful screen, but as you said, resolution would be a problem.. |
