I have been using Adobe Bridge with NEF/RAW files for about six months without a problem. All of a sudden, I cannot open a NEF image; I cannot open even NEF images that I shot several months ago that I have already worked on. I'm getting an error message that reads: Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document. I completely un-installed/re-installed Photoshop 9 - CS2; same problem. Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions? Thanks!

Did you upgrade your camera? Some of the latest Nikons aren't supported in CS2.

Did you install any other RAW editor on your computer? I had the same problem with Bridge for all RAW files after installing ACDC on my computer. I had to re-insert the adobe raw handling dll in the appropriate folder.

Thanks tomrock, but no - the camera is the very same Nikon D200. Your comment did give me an idea. I tried NEF images shot with my D100 and they do work fine. I'm not sure what this means?

Thanks Mcbit.. No changes in software. I already have ACDC installed without a problem. it has been working fine. Could you please give me more information on how to "re-insert the adobe raw handling dll in the appropriate folder"; I'd like to give this a try, but I'm at a loss. Thanks!

If you were once able to open D200 NEF files, and are now no longer able to do so, your ACR plugin has somehow been corrupted or replaced. You should be able to fix this by using the Help>Update function of PS2. If this doesn't work to to this site and download the ACR VERSION 3.7 (this is the latest version which will work with PS2). Follow the instructions concerning where to install the plugin on your computer.
