Default Aperture Question

Anyone using Aperture 2.0?

Question... I am running the trial version which is supposed to be fully functional and I want to use it to manage my ever growing library of images.

I shot a concert Friday night and imported the images into Aperture. Now, only the NEF files transferred. I had my camera capture simultaneous jpg and NEF files (Nikon D3). The jpgs did not transfer.

Is there an issue with this? I couldn't find any information on the online support. Files on the memory card get the same file name but with different extensions (obviously). An alternative would be to have the camera capture NEF on one card and jpgs on the second memory card but I'd rather not limit myself that way.

Now, I transferred the images a second time using Adobe Bridge in CS3 and all files transferred without a problem. If I go ahead and try to import the images into the Aperture library, it sees all images (jpg and NEF) so why the problem with the initial transfer from a card reader?

Anyone else run into this issue?

Julio

Default Re: Aperture Question

Well, if anyone does run into the problem, I've not found a fix and I don't have a response from Apple as of yet. I do, however, have a workaround. Download the images in Adobe Bridge and then import them into Aperture leaving the files at their current location (reference only) and it will do just fine... and not take up double space on the hard disk.
