Default Big, big LCDs

Anyone using a very big lcd, as in greater than 24 inches? I'd like to hear pros/cons about these big screens. I have heard there are some downsides, but I'm not sure what they are. Thanks.

Pros: a very Big LCD. Nice large pictures, will fit at full size.

Cons: If you have my eyes, your icons will be a bit small since to take advantage of the size, you will need to up the resolution. You will see every minute detail in the pictures. Real Estate. $$$

I don't think he meant a laptop screen.

I think you'd need a large room to make looking at a large screen not become stressing on the eye. There has to be a proportionate distance of the eye to anything its viewing. How far back were we taught to view a 16X20 enlagement?

I use an Apple 30" Cinema display and an old Studio Display as a second monitor supported by an ATI Radeon X1900 XT graphic card.

Love it, very immersif and phtographs just "jump" at you, easy to get use to it...
The only downside... now everything else seem sooo small!

I have noticed this, too, since I do have a 26 inch monitor. Actually it feels a tad too small for the photo browsing that I do (using ACDSee). I'm thinking a 27-inch or even 30 inch would be great.

I use a 24" LCD, running at 1920*1200. Great for photo-editing!
