Post Scanner inquiry

With more than 30 years of images (ranging from 35mm to 8x10; transparencies as well as b&w/color negs.), there are many that I would like to scan for further digital use (or abuse, we'll see), however, I am a bit bewildered at the range of scanners available. I need something that will make high quality scans and cover the widest range of formats. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Maybe this post in our Film board will help?
Saluting Canon

or from our Medium Format board...
High Res Scans?

Or just use the Search feature (upper right in the top menu) for stuff like "Scan Film Scanner"

Thanks, very much. Those links have precisely the type of information I was looking for.

Thanks, again.

I bought an Epson V700 flatbed scanner last year and have to say it's excellent value. It has built in support for various film/transparency types. I also have a dedicated 35mm film scanner, but now never use it as the V700 is more than good enough. This site (EPSON V700 review) has quite comprehensive reviews of scanners.

Great review, thanks for the link. I can see why you purchased the Epson V700, it sounds perfect for my needs.

Thanks, again.

flextight is the best route to go - in fact there isn't a comparable alternative.

Perhaps you'd like to suggest which particular Flextight model would suit Eddie's needs?
