I’ve covered sports for a few years, and when shooting baseball and softball, I am either behind the fist base coach or the third base coach. When shooting the batter from behind the first base coach, I focus on the batter with my left eye, and keep my right eye on the pitcher so I know when the ball is about to arrive at the batting box. When covering basketball from the baseline, I tend to shoot thru either eye, keeping the other eye open and on the action. Mostly, cause that’s the only sport I’ve been injured in while shooting, and I want to see what’s happening on both sides of me.

Typically, I shoot with my right eye, but I do shoot with my left eye when the occasion requires, and I shoot with both eyes open when the situation requires. It takes some practice, but gets easier the more one does it.

Thanks for your comforting words, Gary. Funnily enough I'm only lefthanded, left-eyed really, with 3 things: photography, billiards, and 9mm pistol shooting (I shot righthanded while aiming left-eyed) and even officially became a pistol sniper when I was in the army*. With everything else – from greetings to jerk-offs – I'm firmly righthanded. Go figure!

*At the same time that I was a handgun sniper, I absolutely stank at rifle shooting. You can't aim a righthanded rifle with your left eye...

HP desktop XP about 6 years old, Compaq laptop XP about 2 years old. Going to need a new desktop soon but I don't want Vista so I will probably have my buddy build it for me.

Photonuts are into images. Graphics. That's traditionally Apple's preserve.

On this board there'll be a large share of Macs.
On gaming boards the Mac's share might not even top 2%.
Update! The new figures are out: Apple now has a 14% market share in machines, and a 25% market share in revenue, in the PC market....

good, now maybe people will start writing viruses for the MAC and leave the PC alone! The one thing I envy is the graphics of the MAC, why can PC do it? It's just hardware isn't it? Either way, both are good systems and both have their own problems.

I haven't really tested to find out. Such a test would probably frustrate me no matter what I found. Both are fast enough to do what I need to do and I can't afford to buy any more computers for now, so they will have to be enough no matter which is faster. My impression is that both are close to each other in speed, I have a faster and more capable video card on the desktop that drives both a 24 inch and 30 inch monitor. The desktop also has 4 terabytes of attached disk storage, so it does the heavy lifting.
