Cool Anti-spam

Name your anti-spam solution. I've used several programs and there's always some problem. What works for you?

Separate e-mail addresses for different things.

Previously I swore by Cloudmark Desktop, but I've experienced various problems with that plug-in (Outlook), so recently I tried CA Anti-Spam, formerly Qurb, and it's really working well. I'm impressed.

I also employ the "separate e-mail addresses" tactic that Brian mentions, but in practice I find this unwieldy, since I like to retrieve all my mail in one client.

Create a gmail.com account. At your ISP configure your mailbox to forward all your mail to gmail. Its spam filtering is second to none. All the filtering is done on Google's servers; the spam never reaches your computer.

Once you have set up a gmail account, check out all the options for
- configuring it to work with your established email address
- downloading your mail using POP or IMAP
- etc.

Can't live without it.
