Default LCD/TV

Need a computer monitor that can double as a photo editing lcd and a TV. That means large, 27 minimum. What do you know about the 32-inch lcds or larger for use as computer monitors/tvs?

I have a large (>32 inch) display I use for client viewing.

It was a pain to set up with the computer...I had to build a custom size before the images looked right with the MAC. ( I think it is 727 x1646 or some such numbers ( It is in the studio so I am guessing at the numbers))

I was never able to get a colour calibration to look good ( using the spider).

So, I use it for client display, and workshops, which it looks good for, but for editing and colour correction I use a Apple Cinema display.

Default Re: LCD/TV

Generally speaking, TV resolutions don't do well for monitors. Most top out at 1080 vertically and in the 1900 range horizontally. My 24" Dell has a 1920x1200 resolution, which I haven't found in a TV/monitor hybrid with some brief looking.

You might consider getting a nice, high end monitor with multiple inputs and piping a cable/satellite box to it via HDMI or component.
