Default LCD monitor tip.

Here something I learned today .
I bought an Aopen monitor to improve my editing.
I asked for a good model for photos and was served well but after hooking it up at home I noticed the picture wasnt as great a the one in the store ??
Well after a bit of research ,I found out my dell pc didnt have a DVI video card, just the intel motherboard card(VGA).
ooops ,what this means in layman terms is if you have lcd and are using the old style vga connectors youre getting an analogue output, you need DVI to use you lcd effectivly .
Easy fix though buy a new card ..

Absolutely. Very few LCDs are designed today to work optimally with a standard VGA connection. Use a DVI card if at all possible.

My card has both outputs, and out of interest I connected up the old 15 pin 'analogue' connector once and the image was not as clear as the DVI - So yes, it can make quite a difference
