Default Image recovery after the recycle bin

Windows Vista - dont you just love it!?

Found a folder called "Recently changed". Inside were a ton of pics that I had PP'd, which I then deleted in the belief these were in addition to the originals, just copied to a separate folder. WRONG! - they were the originals and I've lost a months work.

Anybody any idea of how to go past the recycle bin and get them back? I know the police can do it somehow.

Aarghh

I've used PC Inspector to get files off corrupted and formatted CF cards. It worked as advertised, and they have a version for hard drive recovery.
