Default Aperture

Maybe Apple are looking to take on Adobe or other RAW management tools. Looks very very nice...

Actually, the more I look at this the more it seems to be a souped-up Picasa, but rather more expensive. I do like how they've implemented the loupe tool though .

Last night I tried to view the preview movie, and my Firefox locked up. Had to kill it, so I shut the whole thing down and ate Pecan Ice Cream instead. I don't have a MAC anyway....

You, Mr Pickles, are just plain weird . Though I think I'd enjoy ice cream more.

My worry about Aperture is the minimum hardware requirements. I will need a new Powermac to run it. Soo sad.

Otherwise Aperture looks like a nice application. Better than iPhoto for sure...

As a Mac user, I am very excited about Aperture. It's pricey, but academic pricing is $249 rather than $499 so that certainly helps. What I liked about the preview movies is that the app has the standard "cool" factor that you get from most of Apple's apps, but this one also has power-user features. It looks like it was built with input from photographers, not by computer people who THINK they know what photographers need. I look forward to seeing it in action eventually.
