Question Help with a monitor

I have a CRT Monitor. It has served me well and I really want to keep it, however it is 7 years old (having outlived two computers and is on the third one). It is a Triniton and really works great. Lately I notice that it has a bright spot in the middle of the screen. I have a screen saver that shows a picture in the middle of the screen and the light spot seems to match up with the location of the screen saver.

I have heard that "burn in" doesn't happen....however it appears the light spot is perfectly square and is exactly that...or, is my monitor dying?

Burn in happens to any phosphor coated surface. There is no avoiding it. Some monitors just take longer than others.
