I have a CRT Monitor. It has served me well and I really want to keep it, however it is 7 years old (having outlived two computers and is on the third one). It is a Triniton and really works great. Lately I notice that it has a bright spot in the middle of the screen. I have a screen saver that shows a picture in the middle of the screen and the light spot seems to match up with the location of the screen saver.
I have heard that "burn in" doesn't happen....however it appears the light spot is perfectly square and is exactly that...or, is my monitor dying? __________________

Burn in happens to any phosphor coated surface. There is no avoiding it. Some monitors just take longer than others.
