Default What kind of computer are you using?

I bought one of the widescreen Dell notebooks. I really like it, especially when viewing this forum. I stretch that browser window out, and the photos posted here look awesome.

But we sell PC's so that was a easy choice

I personaly love Intel more than AMD but we had this left from a project and I decided to give AMD a new look and till now I like it.

My brother-in-law is building me one but apparently its low priority so I'm drooling after reading all these descriptions

Just given you an applaud out of sympathy and admiration for devotion to Photoshop above and beyond the call of duty

These days anything will run photoshop... I remember the first time I used it was a Mac LC475 (25 68040LC MHz, no maths coprocessor) with 4Mb of RAM. Admittedly we weren't working on the same size images as today.

I'm using a P4 2.4, 1GB RAM running XP at the moment. I've got around 600 GB of storage directly, and about 1.5 TB of nearline (either in one of the servers or in removable drive caddies). I've also got an iBook for remote usage, although to be honest I don't edit on that, I tend to just use it as a portable hard drive.

I normally buy a new machine every 18 months, but since processor speeds have pretty much stalled, I'm currently waiting for multiprocessing to kick in before repurchasing.

Cheers,

Tim.
