Default 30 inch lcd monitor

I'm toying with the idea of selling some stuff and getting a 30 inch lcd this year. I'd like to be able to use it with my existing PC. I assume I'll need a new graphics card, and I understand that "dual link" cards are the way to go. Are these available for the AGP port?

Lost my reply.

Okay, I just searched and there appear to be cards with the AGP slot connector. My wife uses Apple's 30" monster and loves it for her needs. I have a Sony 23" monitor and would not trade it. Both are connected using DVI cables.

I hope this helps you.

For that size look at the refresh rate and Lum's etc

Some large monitors have a very narrow viewing angle so if you intend to hook it up to a media center may be somethng to look into

Anything past 1920x1200 will require dual-link DVI or some other trick to get a digital signal to it. If the panel you're looking at supports analog input (aka VGA,) your current card should work, but the quality will not be as good as using digital. May be fine to cover you until you upgrade the computer though.
Dual link is pretty new to consumer level cards.
